Japanese Style

① Beef Bowl Chain Restaurants

(From SUKIYA official website)

Beef bowl chain restaurants are well-known for serving gyudon (beef rice bowls), but they also offer traditional Japanese-style breakfast menus(5am~11am). 🐮
Each breakfast set includes rice and miso soup, and you can choose from options like beef bowl, grilled red salmon, natto (fermented soybeans), eggs, and more. 🍚🥚

The three most famous beef bowl chains are Sukiya, Yoshinoya, and Matsuya.

Our recommendation is Sukiya, which is the most affordable and offers a wide variety of menu options. If you want to enjoy a traditional Japanese breakfast on a budget, give this a try!👍

② MISOJU

(Left: from official website/Right: from our staff)

MISOJU offers a special Japanese-style breakfast with miso soup and rice balls.🍙
In the morning (from 8:30 am to 10:00 am), they have two breakfast sets: The cheaper option includes miso soup, a rice ball, a half-boiled egg soaked in soy sauce, and pickles. The richer option includes the same as above, plus chicken marinated in miso and tofu with salt.🥚🐔

【Experience】

One of our staff members, Ami, tried the richer option and really enjoyed it. The miso soup was tasty and healthy. She also ordered genmai (brown rice) with takana (pickled leafy vegetable) and mentai (spicy cod roe) cheese rice balls. It was absolutely marvelous!🌟

If you’re looking to try a traditional Japanese breakfast, this is a great place. Plus, there are staff who can speak English, so if you have any requests, they can assist you easily.😊

③Ume to Hoshi

(From: https://tabelog.com/tokyo/A1311/A131102/13273058/dtlphotolst/smp2/)

Ume to Hoshi is a Japanese-style breakfast restaurant in Asakusa.
Ume means “plum”, and hoshi means “star”.
Umeboshi are traditional Japanese pickled plums with a sour, salty taste, often eaten with rice. The name of this shop is a pun, and this restaurant offer a good Umeboshi and rice.🌸🍚

 【Special Point】

You can enjoy traditional Japanese morning meals such as rice cooked in a clay pot, miso soup, grilled fish, and seasonal side dishes.🐟♨

Especially in the morning (from 9:00 am to 11:00 am), they offer set meals called “Asa Teishoku (morning set)” which include rice, soup, pickles, and several small dishes.🍚

One breakfast set starts from around 1,200 yen.

If you want to try Japanese Umeboshi and rice style, this restaurant is the best.👍
