Tokyo is home to numerous parks, gardens, and streets that burst into bloom during cherry blossom season, offering visitors a chance to witness the beauty of sakura in a variety of settings.
Some of the most popular sites for hanami
in Tokyo include Ueno Park, where thousands of cherry trees line the paths and canals, creating a stunning backdrop for picnics and strolls; Shinjuku Gyoen, a vast garden with over 1,000 cherry trees, including several rare species; and Chidorigafuchi, a moat lined with cherry trees that is particularly beautiful when the blossoms are reflected in the water. Meguro River is another popular spot, where hundreds of cherry trees line the riverbanks and are illuminated at night, creating a romantic and magical atmosphere. Other popular spots include Yoyogi Park, Inokashira Park, and Sumida Park, each of which has its own unique charm and appeal.

Ueno Park is one of Tokyo’s most famous and popular spots for hanami, or cherry blossom viewing. With over 1,000 cherry trees lining its paths and waterways, Ueno Park offers visitors a stunning display of sakura during the springtime. The park is home to several varieties of cherry trees, including some rare species that can only be found in this location. During the sakura season, the park comes alive with activity, as locals and tourists alike flock to the park to enjoy picnics, drinks, and the company of friends and loved ones beneath the pink canopy of cherry blossoms
K’s House Tokyo Oasis tips: There is a lake downstairs, with lotus flowers, crossing by a narrow path surrounded by sakura, is really amazing! Also, if you are a romantic person, there are available boats for rent, for a lovely time with your partner😊

Yoyogi Park is an oasis in the middle of the jungle of Tokyo, is nice sakura viewing spot in Tokyo with convenient access from Shinjuku and Shibuya. It is one of the biggest park in Tokyo and has 730 cherry trees in total (well, I’ve never counted them). You can view sakura while sitting on the grass in the middle of the square and enjoy hanami in a real hanami atmosphere.
K’s House Tokyo Oasis tips: For hanami is the favorite place of one of our staffs (of course, me). If you want to experience the bustle, laughter, music, funny/weird people (in the good meaning), alcohol, etc, this is your place! Walk around the park, contemplate sakura, the people doing hanami, the atmosphere, and then, sit on the grass. There are many people, but don’t worry, the park is big enough, always there are places to sit.
Note: inside the park there is no convenience store, so bring enough alcohol, snacks for your hanami.
Note2: If you are a big group of friends, this is your place
