【Onsen】Natural hot springs and bathhouses in Kyoto
I think there are many people who like hot springs regardless of nationality.
Kyoto, one of Japan’s leading tourist destinations, is not very famous for its hot springs, but I would like to introduce you to two famous hot springs.
In addition, we will also introduce information on public baths and super public baths that we would like to recommend in Kyoto.

1. Kurama Onsen

Kurama Onsen is located in Kurama, Kyoto.
This is my favorite hot spring in a very quiet mountain away from the hustle and bustle of Kyoto city.
You can enjoy not only one-day hot springs but also relaxing meals and lodging.

In a moderately sized outdoor hot spring, you can relax and enjoy the hot spring while listening to the sound of the leaves rubbing and the birds singing in the wind.
The recommended one-day course is to visit Kifune Shrine, then enter the hiking course of Mt. Kurama, and then hike to Kurama Temple.
After that, it is best to heal your tiredness at Kurama Onsen.

2. Ohara Onsen
Ohara no sato
This is also far from Kyoto city, but this is also “Ohara no Sato” in the famous tourist destination “Ohara”.
To use this hot spring, meals are included in the set only.
This is not big, but there is a stall Goemon bath, and I want to enjoy the hot springs by myself! It is perfect for those who say.
However, when it is crowded, may you have to wait for a while in the indoor bath? !!
- You can not use only one-day hot springs.

■AccessFrom Kyoto Station, take Kyoto Bus No. 17 and get off at “Ohara” bus stop (time required about 60 minutes).

3. Arashiyama onsen
FUFU no YU
※Super bathhouse
A super public bath where you can soak in a natural hot spring near Togetsu Bridge in Arashiyama area.
Both the outdoor and indoor baths are clean and comfortable, and there is common lounge, so it is recommended that you can relax after taking a bath.

Funaoka Onsen
The most famous public bath in Kyoto, which was renovated from a former inn. The solid building and interior are worth a visit.
