Top Best Spots to Photograph Mount Fuji in the Lake Kawaguchiko Area

It’s not a secret that Mt.Fuji is a unique, sacred mountain that will always have a special place in Japanese culture.  It is also Japan’s tallest mountain and one of the biggest tourist attractions of all time.

Would you like to see it? Of course!
Do you want to have the best shot of Mt.Fuji? Absolutely!

So It’s high time to guide you to possibly one of the most breathtaking views in Japan ❤

The Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station

One of the most well-known spots is The Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station.
But let’s see into it a little bit more!

Is Mt. Fuji 5th Station an interesting place worth visiting?
Definitely yes!
Is it the best place to catch your perfect shot of Mt. Fuji?
We are not so sure!

The thing is that The Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station lies approximately at the mountain’s midpoint and though it’s very nice place to visit or start your hike in general, the 5th station just doesn’t provide a full view of Mt.Fuji.

Mt.Fuji : The Best View

We believe that the Lake Kawaguchiko area is one of the best places to enjoy viewing Mt.Fuji.
Also Lake Kawaguchiko is the most easily accessible of the Fuji Five Lakes and a nice choice for a one day trip from Tokyo.

Are you ready? Let’s GO! Here are our TOP Spots for the best view near Lake Kawaguchiko that you can visit in one day!

If you would like to enjoy the Lake Kawaguchiko area for longer, K’s House Mt.Fuji and K’s House Fuji View are the best options for staying in the area.

Kawaguchiko Ohashi bridge

Let us introduce you one of our favorite spots!
Kawaguchiko Ohashi bridge has a nice walking trail – on a clear day you can see a huge Mt.Fuji just in front of you.
You’ll be fascinated by this beautiful scenery!

Yagisaki Park

Yagisaki Park is an absolutely beautiful place to spent your leisure time!

Yagisaki Park is located on the southern shore of Kawaguchiko – really close to Kawaguchiko Ohashi bridge – you could enjoy both of them in the same trip. The parking space is perfect for walking your pet or having a nice picnic with your friends or family. It is a beautiful park where various herbs and flowers are cultivated, This place is especially famous for lavender and hydrangea blossoms in summer and sakura blossom in spring.

Kawaguchiko Walking Trail

The northern side of Lake Kawaguchiko has plenty of spots to enjoy Mt.Fuji!

The path leading to Kawaguchiko Music Forest Museum is an absolutely must-go photo-spot. It is especially famous for the cherry blossoms and Mt.Fuji combination in spring! You’ll be surprised to find a special photo stand several meters high which you can climb for a perfect Mt.Fuji photo.

This place is also popular among pet owners, fishermen and painters – everyone wants to get their precious moments with Mt.Fuji! Sometimes when the weather is especially nice you can take your shot of “Sakasa Fuji” – Mt. Fuji reflected upside down on the surface of the water, like in a mirror.

Oishi park

And finally we are here – Oishi park.

Oishi park is a very famous photo spot. Be sure to visit this park – though to get to this one we advice you to take a bus or a bicycle.

Oishi park has a lot to enjoy! It goes without saying that the Mt.Fuji view is magnificent, but aside from that you can actually find a lot to enjoy inside the park. It has a nice souvenir shop and a café with magnificent view. There is a huge herbal garden alongside Lake Kawaguchiko with many different herbs and flowers depending on the season. In summer, for example, it becomes a magnet for tourists with violet clouds of blooming lavender.  Oh and by the way, be sure to try the special lavender flavored ice cream!

Time to go!

Now that you know where to go, be sure to check the weather forecast for your trip, charge your camera and bring lots of memory cards for your perfect pictures of Mt.Fuji. See you soon!
